Pop Art/Comic Book Girl Makeup Tutorial

Hi Guys & Dolls!

It’s pretty easy to guess the inspiration behind this tutorial: Pop Art & Comics! This was a  lot of fun to do and to wear- it’s visually striking and if you forget you’re wearing it and pass by a mirror you’ll get a  ”whoa” moment! The makeup is so iconic and recognizable that it makes a perfect cheap Halloween costume. There are so many options with this: Dots or no dots, You can wear clothes you already own, use makeup you already have, and you don’t even have to wear the wig, I just thought it was fun! Last week I did the “No Mirror Makeup Challenge” on my YouTube channel and I received many requests to do a “real” tutorial using the Sigma Paris palette. I decided to alter it slightly adding more colorful eyeliner, lashes and switching up the lid shade. One of my favorite things about makeup is the way it can transform you, create a mood or make you feel like a different version of yourself. One of my favorite ways to alter my ego is with a slightly gothic-drag style of makeup. Not 100% on-point drag but what I like to call girlie-drag: Bold eyes and lips and completely unapologetic about it. My voice drops into a lower register, my movement is more fluid and every turn is drama, drama drama. I teased my facebook fans on Tuesday with a photo and it seems many of you like this type of dramatic makeup. Someone even said they were turned on. Some said it was “too much”.
