Earlier this Spring MAC Launched two new additions to their Mineralize Line: Mineralize Loose Foundation and a Mineralize Concealer. I really love MAC’s Mineral line, and I pretty much can’t live without my Mineralize Skinfinish Natural (I wear “Light” in that product) so I wanted to give the loose version a shot.

Earlier this year I received a press release about new Milani Powder Eyeshadows, and I was instantly excited: I was so amped for this release because for whatever reason I anticipated that these would be similar to the MAC sized (and MAC Dupe) shadows Milani used to sell in drugstores a few years ago. I majorly built these up in my head and the day they arrived it took a great deal of will power to not touch them until I had taken photos.

Hi Guys and Dolls!
Milani just launched a new product that I am completely excited by: Shadow Eyez. These are chubby pencils that can be used alone as eyeliner or shadow (though I prefer to use them as a base for powder eyeshadows). They are intended to last for 12 waterproof hours without creasing. I tested the green & the purple for 2 days and they held up, no creasing or smearing etc… though it’s worth noting that I also used primer. I also left the swatches on my hand for a number of hours, and there was only minor fading after being rinsed & rubbed with water.

The colors are bright, the hues themselves appeal to me, they glide on the skin like butter with high color payoff, wear like iron, bendable at first application but once it sets there is no smudging or creasing. These dupe several similar high-end long-lasting shadow pencils, but come out ahead because they are inexpensive and available at drugstores/mass retailers.

Milani recently added two new palettes to their Runway Eyes lineup. I was really excited because the “Primary” palette is about as close to a full- rainbow palette as I’ve seen at the drugstore and “Complementary” looks like summer to me- blue & green water with glittery sands! Hi Guys & Dolls! Is it just me or does it seem that there is a huge surge of Baked eyeshadows on the market- I’m not at all complaining, I love this type of wet/dry shadow; I love the option to apply color intense when it’s wet, or sheer when it’s dry. Hi Guys & Dolls! A few months ago I received a few Z palettes for review consideration. From the get-go I was really impressed with them but I wanted to wait a few weeks and see how they held up to use & cleaning, since the main complaints I’ve seen on these are that since they are cardboard they aren’t as sturdy as plastic palettes. Hi Guys and Dolls! Those among you who are big MAC fans might know that roughly twice a year MAC releases a semi-permanent line up of Mineralize eye shadows to be sold for roughly a year. This is separate from other Limited Edition mineralize eyeshadows MAC may release throughout the year.

Milani Crystal Gloss is a non-sticky lipgloss with a scent that Milani describes as “Cotton Candy” though I think it smells like caramel cookies. They have a sponge tip applicator that is a bit on the small side so you may need to do several pulls to get enough gloss on your lips. The tube appears small, but they contain 4.86gm of product, about the same as a MAC lipglass. They retail for about 5.49, and can be found an many different druggstores & mass retailers like Target.
