Hi Guys and Dolls! I hope everyone is having a great week! SO Many of you have entered my Vintage or tacky contest! Thank you all. It’s a blast watching all your videos, but judging is going to be so hard! Don’t forget there’s still roughly 2 weeks left so if you haven’t entered/have NO idea what I’m talking about click here. OK, SO I wanted to do an updated pinup look/ day to night look, and since I’ve never used my 28 Neutral palette I thought it was about time I did. I also included a less expensive palette available from NYX for those of you on a budget, who want something smaller, or are squeamish buying a palette with no brand name. Keep in Mind that both palettes are made in China.
A tale of Two Palettes:
OK, so the small Palette on top is from NYX it’s called “Champagne and Caviar” and I got from Mscuppycake’s website for 7 dollars (on the NYX website it’s 10!~) The colors aren’t richly saturated with pigmented, put they aren’t bad either. The shadows are a bit powdery, but if you use a good base it’s not really a problem. I’d say this is a great palette for if you’re on a budget and want a nice neutral palette that includes a white and a black.
If memory serves the dupes for what I used in the video are the 3rd color on the second row for the brown in mt crease, and the 4th color on the bottom row for the pink, and the 1st color on the 1st row as a highlight.
The Bottom, much larger palette is the 28 Neutral Palette which I purchased on here on ebay. Again, the shadows aren’t all richly pigmented, but it’s a better quality than the NYX palette. The Colors are buildable and for the most part are not powdery or chalky. Obviously there are more colors, and so more variety. The colors are smother and aren’t as powdery, and there are plenty of highlight shades including a duo-chrome (the bottom on the left). This also had a black but not really a white. Neither palette’s black is a true black, more of a soft black. The 28 neutral palette’s pans are also the same size as MAC pans, so if you wanted you could depot some of these colors and pop them in your MAC Palette. Warm and cool looks are easily achievable with this palette. Really this is the one I recommend, for it’s versatility and quality, but the NYX one isn’t bad if you’re on a tight budget, or want something for travel. I know I’d never travel with this big 28 palette, so the Champagne and Caviar one will come in handy for me ^_^
