Soft Spring Makeup & Fashion

SPRING GREEN 092Check out my neighbor’s cat photobombing!

Hi Guys & Dolls!

Today’s tutorial is a soft & simple yet fun makeup look. Lately I’m been gravitating to lighter eyes and super bold lips. It feels fun and fresh but I still get the pop of color I crave! On Saturday I filmed myself getting ready to do out with the fam-bam for my husband’s Grandpa’s 95th birthday dinner.

YEP, I said 95!

We always go to his favorite family-style steakhouse an it’s always such a joy to spend time with the family. Afterword we watched The Life of Pi at Mikey’s sister’s place and her kids and it’s so interesting to see a movie like that with children and hear their perspective. On Sunday we went on a double date with my parents: California Pizza Kitchen and Oz the Great and Powerful in IMAX 3D, so my weekend was filled with good food, good company, and visually stunning movies. I’m truly blessed.

I’ve included the fashion video I did on Friday if you’d like to have a better look at my outfit. In both videos I’ve included subtitles of the products shown/used ^_^

What I wore to see the Tran-Siberian Orchestra

ootd dec 007

Hi Guys & Dolls!

A few weeks ago I went to see the Tran-Siberian Orchestra in Sacramento California. Being that this was a Christmas event and my first time seeing a performance in an Arena I wanted to look fabulous but be comfortable and this dress from SWAN by Clements Ribeiro for Evans was just the thing! Chic & fun without trying too hard- that’s my goal!

Every thing about this dress screams RIGHT NOW yet is has a timeless feel to it. The Burgundy background and blue print are very in trend but I think are classic enough that this dress will be a fall staple for me for years to come. I love the little things, like the metallic threading running vertically though the fabric and the lace cut out at the shoulder. I Love this dress!

My necklace is a Navajo White Turquoise piece my husband gave me years ago, the Scarf is a “Pashmina” with tied & fringed ends that I painstakingly tied together to make an infinity scarf. It’s soft & silky and the color makes me happy.

belt

Up close you can see the metallic threading. My small waist is one a the things I love about my body, so I’m always happy to show it off with a killer belt. This one is from the Clements Ribeiro SWAN line for Evans. You can just barely tell but the metal is rose gold. Little details like that really make an outfit special. ootd dec 020

Hi Guys & Dolls!

One of my favorite things about makeup is the way it can transform you, create a mood or make you feel like a different version of yourself. One of my favorite ways to alter my ego is with a slightly gothic-drag style of makeup. Not 100% on-point drag but what I like to call girlie-drag: Bold eyes and lips and completely unapologetic about it. My voice drops into a lower register, my movement is more fluid and every turn is drama, drama drama. I teased my facebook fans on Tuesday with a photo and it seems many of you like this type of dramatic makeup. Someone even said they were turned on. Some said it was “too much”. To both comments I would say “exactly what I was going for”! Continue reading
