Hi Guys and Dolls!
I trust you’re all having a great week! It’s raining here in northern California and I love it! Last week we had a heatwave, so this is a nice change!
Today I’m sharing my swatches and thoughts on the new Sigma Eyeshadow palettes that came out last week. Some of you may remember that I really didn’t care for Sigma’s last stab at a makeup line (don’t remember it? check out my old review here). So it’s with quite a bit of excitement that I can tell you that these are pretty darn awesome! These palettes have basically nothing in common with the previous line, and I’m really quite impressed at the detail of the colors/finishes. One of the things I’ve always loved about Sigma is that they take constructive criticism well (they need to share their secrets because it’s not that easy for everyone), and I feel that they really listen to their customers’ wants and needs! I know I wasn’t the only one who didn’t love their old palettes, and I know I won’t be the only ones to LOVE these!
The colors are fabulous, and can I say: HOLY DUPES BATMAN! Each Palette comes with a double-sided brush, and they appear to be the same quality as Sigma’s full-size brushes. There is a great color range (neutrals to intense brights) and a great range of textures! I did a good job of describing my thoughts on the palettes in the video below, but there is just one thing I forgot- I think the shiny eyeshadows could have been more pigmented and/or had a higher amount of pearl to them -but- if you use a sticky base (MAC Chromaline, NYX Jumbo Pencil or MUFE Flash Color for example) they turn out amazing (see my first look with these below). It’s my job to be picky, so I’m looking for negatives, but over all, I say these are well done!
Anyhoo, here’s swatches:

Over all these are great, interesting colors, and they blend well, but some shades are a little on the sheer side, though perhaps that is intentional. They are a bit powdery and lack the “grip” that the best eyeshadows have. All of this is fixed with a slightly sticky base as mentioned above.

hey – you have the “bare palette” listed twice – one is supposed to be dare right?
lol, yes. TY I just fixed it!
dare palette is cool, flare is WAY up my alley! great colors and great swatches (you named both dare and bare as bare in the piece btw)
Very very stunning look, I love it!, your post make me wanna buy the flare palette, it’s my favorite!, but too expensive for me
Did I miss the video link?
these pallettes SUCK. do not buy them. they are powdery and chalking and sheer. Dont waste your money. yeah you can just use a base and it will work OK but it’s just not worth the 35 bucks IMO.
TOTALLY AGREE!!!
can you do MAC dupes for the Sigma Bare Palette
I second leah’s request! Help us out with the Holy Dupes Batman!
I am looking for the Bare pallets ones first too! I hear Elope is like MAC Blanc Type and Act is like MAC Patina… What do you think?
Can you recommend any dupes for Oversee and Define in the Flare palette? Those two are gorgeous colours!
Any dupes for the dare palette?
OMG damn gorgeous!
Do you know a dupe alternative for the eyeshadow grasp from the dare palette?
