Does anyone remember a company called FaceFront? A few years ago they were quite popular with the YouTube Beauty community, and though I never tried them out, it was “on my list”. Then they seemed to just go away, I think I heard that they went out of business. Anyway, fast forward to the here and now: The brand is back and has been taken over by a new comapny. You can read all about it here if you’re interested.
Anyway, today I’m here to share my thoughts and a few swatches of their Spring Collection, “Ouro Fino”. According to Facefront:
” Ouro Fino is Portuguese for “Fine Gold”. This delicate Collection is finely milled and infused with Small 24k Gold nano-particles, imported from Peru. The Set Consists of 5 Artistic Pigments, 1 Brush, 4 Bronzers, and 2 Lip Glosses. These products are never tested on Animals, and are cruelty free. Our Artistic Pigments, Blushes, and Bronzers are Vegan. Our Lip Glosses are NOT Vegan.”
I have a few products from the collection to share with you today. This collection has slightly special packaging: a Gold splatter on the lid of their usual jars, and gold labels on the back. The inside of the jar has a sifter to prevent too much product from being exposed- Great for those of us who are a bit clumsy!
Ouro Fino Eyeshadow, $15.50 for 5gm
Nylon Garden: A wonderfully pigmented pearly Olive Green with golden shimmer and Gold flake.
Shadow Keeper: Pearly Deep Plum with a brighter Red-Violet shimmer and Gold flake.
Amarela: Semi-sheer satin finish bright Yellow with Gold/multi Sparkle.
Retro-Robotic Violeta- Sheer Red-Violet with multi colored shimmer and Gold flake.
By far my favorites are Nylon Garden and Shadow Keeper- they are both pigmented, smooth and pearly! It doesn’t hurt that Purple and Green are two of my fave colors, but beyond that I think they are the best quality in this collection! At first I felt that $15.50 was a bit on the pricy side, and I still think it’s a bit high considering that this is a company trying to make a comeback; However, these do contain Gold flake which no doubt drives up the price, plus you are getting 5gm of product, so I think it’s a fair price for what you get, but not a bargain.
All Shadows were swatched dry over Urban Decay Primer Potion.
Ouro Fino Blush $15.00 for 9gm
Re-Write Pink:A matte bright pink-coral with gold flake.
The Blush is a great value, and the color is a wonderful spring/summer pop for the cheeks. I think this color would be flattering on a wide variety of skin tones.
Ouro Fino Bronzer $17.50 for 9gm
Third Kiss: Matte Golden-tan with Gold flake. This color would best flatter people light-medium complexion with golden undertones.
Loco Cocoa: light red-based tan with zero shimmer. This color would best flatter light to medium complexions with a pink undertone.
The Blushes are bronzers are really pretty colors, however I rarely reach for loose brushes/bronzers of any kind. I find that the nature of the loose powder makes it difficult to evenly load your brush and can lead to your blush/bronzer looking streaky. If anything I’d go for the Blush, because the color is gorgeous, is spread evenly on the skin, and flatters a wide variety of skintones.
What are your thoughts?
Are you excited Facefront is back? Are there any of their old products you’d like to see comeback?
thanks for stopping by!
