Requests?

Hey everyone! Not much to say, this is just my requests posts. I may also start listing videos that I’ll be doing that have been requested. Please go ahead and leave me a comment here letting me know what your requests are, and if it’s a specific look, please link me to a photo/photos.

No promises on fulfilling these requests, but I will be keeping these in mind! :)

  1. A bunch of comic book heroine inspired looks, based on the colors in their costumes.

Like, what make-up does Huntress wear to the office or Spider Woman wear to the club when they’re not out fighting crime?

    Others possibilities:
    Catwoman
    Harley Quinn
    Poison Ivy
    Wonder Woman
    Black Canary
    Storm
    Jean Grey [Phoenix]
    Zatanna
    Elektra
    Mystique
    Ms. Marvel

  24. I think Thursdays and Wednesday is a great idea. It may help someone pick something out for their Friday, Saturday or Sunday outing. As far as what I would like to see:

    *”Top-Heavy” flattering clothing
    *”More Mature” (I’m 26, not 14) Retro/Punk/Indie
*Interview wear for the “Creative” Industries. (ex: Pastry, Jewelry Design, Photography)
*Maybe this could be blogged and NOT Youtubed but Lingerie is sometimes difficult.
*Special Occasion Outfits, like events that require mailed invitations.
*And all of the above with alternatives to wearing high heels! Some of us big gurls get knee pain!
    *…..Accessorizing rules.

Thanx for all the great makeup tuts. You’re by far my favorite Guru. Peace.

I LOVE the fashion idea. I’m a plus sized girl myself and I can’t help but wear black ALL the time. It’s slimming, matches with anything and hides most of my problem areas. But I’ve been wanting to add more color to my wardrobe. I’d love to hear your input on how to wear more colorful clothing. Also a few tricks in camouflaging those problem areas would be pretty sweet too. Hehe! ^^

    3. what about some Alice inspired Make ups, more review videos about any all day issue – they’re always really inspiring (somewhat like the shampoo-and-stuff review you did for example)

I was only recently introduced to your videos, but looking through some of the old stuff on your site, I would love to see a FOTD you did back in May 09 that you mentioned you may do a tut for, but if I am correct you never did a tut on it. I LOVE the look and have the same problem, silver is so far out of my comfort zone but you pulled it off flawlessly, so I’d love to see a tut, because I have a handful of silvers since I love the color, but have no idea what the heck to do with them.

  36. Hey doll, I figured I’d put my input on what you can touch on with the upcoming fashion videos here instead of on your YouTube (darn character limits, hehe).

Here are just some ideas, hope it helps out!

I’d like to see ideas on where to shop, both stores you visit in person, and any websites you’ve shopped at online (which will be helpful to people not in your area, like moi); how you like to accessorize in general, or more specific stuff like how to dress an outfit up or down, or give it a different feel just by swapping out accessories; your take on current trends that arise (whether it’s yay or nay!) and how to incorporate them into your existing wardrobe; how to pull together interesting outfits with things most people already have in their closets; favorite colour combinations in outfits; how you highlight your attributes and camouflage things you’re not so fond of; where you draw your fashion/style inspirations from, movies, musics, pinups, art, etc. And hey, if you’re feeling really adventurous you can take us on shopping trips with you once in awhile! Field trip! Haha. Those are just a few, so many things you can do! Can’t wait to see how you rock this!

I would like to see…what stores you shop at, I am also plus size and am wondering if you have any secrets that I don’t know. :] I’m into rock/punk style and cutesy accessories so of course stuff geared towards that for me but I’m going to look at whatever your offering.

    Makeup looks…
Teal and Gold look, don’t have a picture bc it’s not a specific ‘I want THIS’ but I have been playing around with these two colors and haven’t found what I want.

Maybe a fun look for a techno festival, bright crazy makeup. I have lots a friends that go to those things and I have been asked to go this summer and don’t really do that type of look.

Oh! I recently discovered ‘psychobilly’ and fell in love but they are not offering much in the way of tutorials for hair or makeup. If that’s a look you like maybe you can suggest some interpretations. I have tried a couple of my own looks but would love to see what the almighty guru ;] has to offer.

I’m not really looking for any specific colour looks. But I am wondering if you could use the 88 palettes more. I ask this because a lot of people have them so we can all use the same colours, etc. I got mine from eBay and love them both but I have difficulty coming up with looks to use them.

As for fashion videos – plus size girls where to shop, what styles look good, how to hide things we dislike and highlight the parts we do like.

Any day to upload I think, I watch videos every day. :)

Thanks so much – I really hope you can do this!

Hey Cora I thought this request might be interesting to you. I am going to an anime convention at the end of July and I was wondering if you could help me with my make-up. My character is Lust from the popular anime, Fullmetal Alchemist. She’s a seductive, murdering living doll with a good side. I’m really excited to portray her but nervous that I won’t be able to get her look right. I hope that I peaked your interest enough that you’ll give me some tips in one of your awesome tutorials. If not its ok, keep making those great videos!
My youtube account name is longvieweccentric. And this is a link to a picture of Lust: http://www.pureanimegallery.com/d/5857-1/lust-homunculus-fma.jpg

I got that for free while I was working at Sephora, and I have to say, I don’t really like it. It’s too thin and sheer to be any good as a gel liner. Is it returnable? MAC fluidline is only a few dollars more and it’s great!

I’ve been a fan of your tutorials for a while..great stuff! I would like to request a tutorial about make-up brushes. I’ve only recently started using brushes, I purchased a set from Coastal Scents and they seem ok so far. I am a bit embarrased to admit however that I have no idea what most of them are supposed to be used for. Could you do a make-up brushes for dummies/rookies kind of thing that just generally explains how the various types of brushes like flat, round, angles..etc are meant to be used?

  120. Hey Cora! Your tutorials are really entertaining. I like to learn new techniques but you’re actually funny and fun to watch, which makes all the difference!

So here’s my dilemma, I don’t actually do Halloween, because every year on that weekend me and a BUNCH of my friends go camp out at the renaissance festival for the weekend. This year my costume is very Tribal Fusion belly dance inspired, (A-la Rachel Brice, you can google image to see her, she’s gorgeous), its almost a gothic/steam punk take on the classic belly dance outfit. But i’ve found the makeup she uses 1. is WAY harsh on me she basically has a panda eye thing going on, and 2. Won’t last all day and I don’t want to end up a smudgy black mess!
So I’d love to see what your individual take would be on that style. As a halloween look there’s a lot of fun bindis, shells, flowers, and synthetic hair falls used, but i’d be super happy just to see your ideas on any of it!
    You rock!

However, i cannot come across anything that is ‘wearable’ instead of just a theatrical or costume look. I love the way you use bright, bold, pigmented colors in your tutorials & thought you could do one of your own or help with some tips on how to apply these colors so they’ll pop! I’m thinking of coloring my own false lashes orange to still get that look but not so dramatic as the picture. Thanks!!!

Kind of an odd request, I know. It’s just that I’ve been using sponges, Q-Tips, my fingers, etc for years and I’m now starting to look into investing in some quality brushes. I don’t live in America so it can be hard for me to find some of your brands, but I do know a girl who sells MAC products so if you could suggest any MAC brushes for things like blush, mineralized poweders, liquid foundations, eye shadows, etc that would be wicked! 159. I recently got invited to an August Wedding, and wanted makeup light but playful. I put together a neutral eye, black liner, lashes, and coral lips. All seems well right? Wrong. I can’t put on my lashes. I’ve tried and tried but nothing works. Most of the time it seems as if my natural lashes get in the way as with mascara they touch my eyebrows anyway. This though isn’t the dilemma, so I’m here with a question more then a request. Hopefully you don’t mind.

Mac Lashes vs Drug Store Lashes.

As it was the first time ever for me buying lashes I saw a youtube video claiming how Mac 3′s changed his life so I purchased them. Now though I see a lot of people using Ardell’s (sp?) And was wondering the difference between the two.

LOVE your tutorials! You’re very cute, good energy – and fun to watch.
Someday, I hope you’ll consider having a guest OLD person on- and make HER up (maybe your mom or something)
I’m in my fifties, and watch you, then ‘tone down’ what I learn as is appropriate for a fiftysomething who happens to be in college.

    Yeah.

    I know.

Your vids remind me of the days (long past) my sister and I would play ‘beauty parlor’ and do makeup, wash it off, and do it again. I repped Sebastian’s a LONG time ago,did some runway work, and stage makeup ‘back in the day’.

I use your ideas and techniques, but ‘tone them down’ so I don’t look ridiculous for someone my age, and it works quite well.

When you reach a certain age- you are limited to what your skin will let you do for makeup.
There *is* no foundation that will hide what happens.
So I use a ‘flash bronzer’ instead of foundation – and it works GREAT!

I’ve searched and searched online, and the videos for ‘old’ women are … poo.

These ‘makeup artists’ first thing put foundation on this poor older woman and … BANG!
    ten years older.

Anyway- I’m very happy I subscribed, and thank you for the energy boost!

  170. Hey, Cora! I was just wondering if you could do a silver eyeshadow-with-black-liner tutorial. I wear silver eyeshadow at times, but I can’t seem to make it look…professional! I’ve seen your tutorials and they are above and beyond! If you can, will you call it “Moonlight”?

  181. Hello Cora!

Yes, I know I’m a guy but I’m a painter/graphic designer and I love ANYTHING creative and artsy – so I was wondering if you could do a makeup tutorial for my absolute favorite singer of all time back in her No Doubt days – Gwen Stefani! More specifically, her very girly, very PINK look in the “Ex-Girlfriend” music video or the “New” music video would be wonderful! Here’s the “Ex-Girlfriend” video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Yqru5UXWGY&ob=av2e

    Thanks for taking requests!

  182. Hey Cora! So, I’ve heard that the “trendy” color for Spring/Summer 2012 is going to be orange. I’m super excited about that as I think most women can pull off a shade of orange (peach, coral, etc.) and it just really says “happy” to me. I would love to see some tutorials using shades of orange on your YOUTUBE channel and in particular using the shade “Paradisco” from MAC. That is one of my all time favorite shades and I’d love to see what you could create with it. Much love to you Diva <3

  185. Hey cora, I LOVE your videos/blog! After you did the april fools day walmart haul I was wondering if you could do a real walmart (or target) haul because sometimes sephora , ulta & all those places can be expensive. So basically I was wondering if you could do a haul that’s more affordable???
    Hope you like my idea!

  189. First off, you are so stunning with every makeup choice you do. But could you try a natural make up tutorial? I always look terrible in eyeliner and dark eye shadows, and I have blue eyes, and a reddish/brown hair with blonde highlights.. It’d be a huge help for a everyday school look, thank you! (:

  190. Just wanted to say, I love your videos. You make it easy for even the newest beginner like me. And you’re hilarious!!! If you ever quit doing makeup, stand-up is your GIG girl!!! Anyway, I hear a lot about the Tarte cheek stains from all the gurus around town and I was wondering if you could do a review on that for me, your #1 Fan from Japan. Also, are there any good dupes for it? $30 a tube seems a bit on the expensive side. Love your videos SO much. You would make my YEAR if you did this for me! <3
