Zombie Pin Up Makeup (Pic Heavy)

Hi Ghouls and Dolls. Or Guys and Ghouls. Or Ladies and Germs( what is this, a choose-your-own adventure greeting?) Here’s my final Halloween look for 2009, and It’s my personal favorite. I know I didn’t do much this Halloween, but I think everyone else about had it covered. I a HUGE zombie freak, as well as a HUGE Pin-Up freak, so this was combining two loves for me, which is nearly always a good time (chocolate and peanut butter anyone?)

I hope you guys enjoy this video, it was quite a labor of love. I edited for the first time in Sony Vegas (ok, that’s not entirely true. I made a makeup removal video for my Ghettoccino channel using Sony Vegas but all I did was crop like, 2 things and add a watermark. Big whoop). I also did video that was nearly all voice-over, another first. I think the end result turned out great, even if it took forever (a lot of that was just learning).

I’ve included a TON of pictures, I really love the way this turned out.

I forgot to mention this in the video, but I have yo give a shout-out to Candy, she’s the one who showed me I could use eyelash glue instead of Liquid Latex (and I could not find my Liquid Latex, so that advice came in handy!)

Next Halloween I will start taking requests early so I can do tons more Halloween videos for you guys!

OH dear?! I seem to want to eat your brains! Isn't that the cutest thing?

Nail Polish haul: China Glaze and Color Club

Hi Guys and Dolls. I’ve had these polishes for about a month, but I keep forgetting to show you my swatches! China Glaze’s fall collection is called Retro Diva ( play on last years Rodeo Diva?) and I also wanted to pick up one more of the Kaleidoscope Holos before they disappear (the Kaleidoscope collection is discontinued. Sadly, I don’t think I’ll ever get my hands on Let’s Do It In 3d, or Tickle My Triangle. Le Sigh)

I’m sorry my application is a bit messy, I’m not what you’d call a pro at applying nail polish, and yes, my cuticles are a mess. I’m over it, lol.

It’s My Turn 3 Coats. This is a glittery Gold holographic polish (meaning it reflects many different colors, but the glitter sort of works together, rather than independently, savvy?) with has a cool undertone that I’m not sure if I like, though truth be told I think the coolness probably suits my skin tone better than a warm gold would. Those of you familiar with the OMG collection Holos you might think these look more like a glitter polish. I love the smooth-linear-ness of the OMG holos, but these are just….Amazing. I can’t tell which I prefer more, the smooth Holo of the OMG’s or the chunkier holo of these Kaleidoscope polishes. The OMG’s are pretty much opaque in 2 coats, the Kaleidoscope’s typically need 3, since they seem to not have much of a base color.

Let’s Groove 2 coats. A dark purple shimmer with a lit-from within radiance. In person, you relly don’t see with little blue and red shimmers, but they are there. I didn’t think I was going to care for this one as much as the others, but it turned out to be my fave. This one applies really well.

Stella 2 Coats. This one is sort of a shimmery blackened Fuchsia. The color is gorgeous, but I really dislike polishes that show the brush strokes, It’s a major pet peeve of mine. This one isn’t a major offender, but it’s there. The application (other than the brush strokes) is a breeze, and it’s fully opaque in 2 coats, which is really nice.

Wild At Heart, From the Color Club collection of the same name

Color Club “Wild at Heart” 2 coats. This one disappointed me a little bit. It’s a really pretty purple polish that I would classify as a semi-holo. I saw a few pictures of this on Steph’s Closet and Scrangie before I purchased it, so I knew it wasn’t going to be super blingy like China Glaze Holos. This one seems to photograph with more holorifficness than it has otherwise. But it is insanely pretty, in fact, I’m wearing it right now. It’s still a purple with multi colored glitter, what more do you want in a nail polish? oh yeah, Holo. (just kidding)

If You really want a purple Holo, See if You can get your hands on China Glaze’s LOL from the OMG Collection:

I simply love China Glaze, but many of my fave colors aren’t available at my local Sally Beauty Supply.  I like Color Club as well, and I’ve never seen anywhere that sells them local (anyone know of a place in the Oakland/Bay Area that sells a lot of China Glaze/Color Club?). On top of that, even with paying for shipping, it’s cheaper to get these online, since they are 2.50-3.30 a bottle. Yippie!

I got these at Head2toe, since the shipping is lighting fast (for me anyway)

What are some of your current fave nail polishes? Have you tried /do you like  holographic polish?

Makeup Play.

Dec 24 2009 EDIT: Apparently a lot of you have been having MAJOR issues with Calypso Minerals, and I noticed the site is down. I really don’t want to take all my posts and videos down, since I still think the eyeshadow quality is good, and I like the work I’ve done using it. I’m taking out anything that shows what CM I used. When I can, I’ll try to revise the post with things you can use a dupes.

ALSO I’m adding this disclaimer on all the posts/videos simply stating that I have no idea what is going on. Many of you have had issues of never receiving your products. I will say, when I purchased products, they arrived pretty quickly, but when she sent me the Matte Stacker for free, it did take a pretty long time, but I figured that was because it was gratis. I just want to say, I’m not affiliated with this company, so I can’t help you with shipping/ordering issues. Yes I talked with Jen in the past, and yes she sent me a few items for free, but for the most part, I’m just a customer like the rest of you. I’m really sorry if anyone has been hurt, but your purchases are always at your own risk.

This isn’t really a proper FOTD, since it’s just my eye, and I took it off about 2 mins. after snapping these pics, but you get the idea. I was just playing with makeup (as I do) and I came up with this, and also a Black and Orange (Last Picture) look that simply HAS to be a tutorial!moodring5

Kat Von D Sinner/ Goth Makeup

Hi Guys and Dolls! So here’s my Kat Von D Makeup Sinner look. I wanted to do something was was a different way of putting makeup on that I normally do: A darker color on the lid and liner colors in the crease/brow-bone. I really like the way this turned out, and I think it’s really easy to do compared to my normal “using makeup to create a deeper crease” -type makeup. I think I’ll be doing more makeup with a similar method!

I wanted to clarify something: in my review for this palette, many of you got the impression I just flat out don’t like it, or that I don’t like neutrals/lighter/paler colors- I do! I think that this palette is REALLY GOOD if you don’t already have dupes for it! I have a lot of dupes, which is not the makeup’s fault, but all my fave colors from this palette are easily dupable. Also, I like lighter colors, but I just don’t get all excited about dusty Mauve.

Anyway, here’s a perverse amount of pictures, & a few pictures of dupes (click on pictures to make them larger):
