How to Apply False Lashes video

Hey Guys and Dolls! I’ve been meaning to do a “False Lashes” tutorial for a long time now! I know there are a lot of other videos out there that show how to apply false lashes, but I do think the method I use is quite a bit different, and pretty much fool proof. (more…)

L-R Yellow Pearl, Grass Pearl, Very Pink Pearl, Orange Zest, Purple Pearl

Hey Guys and Dolls! I hope everyone is doing well! we’re having out first warm day since we moved and it’s really nice. I was starting to think the sun had abandoned me! I’m sorry about the lack of blog posts/tutorials/video lately, but you know I’ve been moving/unpacking settling in. The new place is great! After living in such a tight space for so long, it amazing how big a one bedroom townhouse can feel. Maybe I’ll do a house-tour on Ghettoccino (my personal blog channel) once we’re all done.  Anyway…

MsCuppyCakes is a online store that sells all sorts of NYX Makeup, and Red Cherry Lashes!!! When I “discovered” this website earlier this spring, I squealed with delight! You guys (and dolls) may not know this, but I really do love NYX (pronounced Nick’s, for those who don’t know ^_^). Most of my blushes are NYX, and I have a ton of NYX eye shadows (I  tend to forget about them since they are in a drawer, note to self:  Get an empty palette for NYX shadows). You all know I love the Jumbo Pencils (especially the cream ones, like “Milk” not the ones with shimmer) But I think the lipliners are right on par with MAC (I have 4 or 5 and only one MAC lip liner, so there you go) .  I actually prefer my NYX white eyeliner to my MAC Fascinating EyeKohl for lining my waterline since it isn’t as stark white. Over all, I like NYX, lol!

So, when MsCuppyCakes asked me if I’d like to do a review on some new Pearl Mainia’s I jumped at the chance! They never have these in the one local store that sells NYX! I was very surprised to like them so much! Just look at these babies! SO pretty! For 95 CENTS! amazing. Now I’ll agree that the bottles are kind of a pain. They remind me of the pigment vials that MAC does around the holidays. What I do with those, is a get 5 gram sample jars are pour them out into that, so they are easier to use. I’m going to do the same with these, I just need to pick up some jars. And the glitters! OMG! I love the glitters! And again, these are dirt cheap, at $1.25!!!  I have a video coming up on how to make your own glitter liner, and I’m SO going to use Hot Gold! and how HOT would “Hot Pink” or “Purple” glitter be on you lips? Pretty effing hot, I’d say! lol!

I did learn though, that taking swatch pictures of glitter is pretty much impossible, but I tried:

L-R Hot Pink, Hot Gold, Disco Ball, True Purple

You can KIND OF see Hot Gold and Hot Pink, sort of see Disco Ball, but the magic of the Purple one is lost. So sad. Now The lashes are really cool, even though I broke mine!!! I forgot to mention this in the video, but apparently Red Cherry lashes are made by the same Manufacturer as MAC Lashes! I’m so bummed that I broke mine, but they are stiil cool, and fun to have in my stash (I know, I’m weird)

My Faves:
Orange Zest Pearl
Grass Pearl
Hot Pink Glitter
Purple Glitter
HOT GOLD!
I’d definitely say these are a go! I mean, they are super duper cheap, and aside from the bottles I have no complaints!
Her Prices are I believe lower that cherry culture (except when they have those mega sales, but I’ve heard that shipping can take FOREVER for them. I’ve never ordered from them, so I can’t say) But I believe MsCuppyCakes’ everyday prices are better.
Stay “tubed” this weekend, I have a how-to apply False lashes video that is really truly different than what you normally see! I hope you will all give this method a shot!
Have a great week everyone!

Harajuku Lovers “G” is  wonderful Sweet Beachy perfume.  It smells Juicy and dry all at once.  Part Coconut, part citrus, with a lovely dry down.  Not a terribly unique perfume, but the best “version” of this type I’ve smelled.  My Husband can’t get enough of it!

Harajuku Loveres "G"- tell me that isn't the CUTEST perfume ever!

CCO/CCS: Everything you need to know^_^

June 6, 2009 · 1 Comment

I’m sorry this blogpost will be so short. as some of you know, I’m moving this weekend, so I don’t have any time, and after this I won’t have internet for a few days. I pretty much covered everything in the video and if you have questions, feel free to ask, but it will take me till Tuesday to answer ^_^. One thing I did want to mention is that CCO’s & CCS’s have some rules. You can’t buy more than 3 of any item, meaning only 3 e/s, only 3 lipglosses, regardless of shade/color. Also, I think  there is a limit on how much you can buy, only $300 per day.  Not every store is super strict about these, but it’s good to keep them in mind. Here’s a Link to how to find a CCO near you!

Have a great weekend everyone! Wish me luck with my move!

MAC Makeup Expiration

June 4, 2009 · 1 Comment

Hey Guys and Dolls!
I get a lot of people asking me how long a certain product is good for, and while it would be impossible to answer you all individually, I can give you the knowledge of how to figure it out yourself. I’m basically going to be giving you information that is only relevant to Estee Lauder Brands,  however, some general guidelines for all makeup are available here.
To continue reading click “read more”

So, on every product made by Estee Lauder Brands such as MAC and Clinique, there is a “batch code”. This is a code that will help you figure out when your product was made. It will have 3 (to 4, depending on the month) characters: a letter, and two numbers. The first character is a letter that represents the batch, so the letter “A” would mean the first batch, “B” would be the second, so on and so fourth. the second character represents the month, so 1 would represent January, 2 would represent Febuary, and so on. The last character represents the year, so 7 stands for 2007, 8 would be 2008, etc…

So, A17 would mean it was the first batch of January 2007; M38 would be the 13th batch of March 2008. Get it? Got it? Good. Now here’s a few pictures as examples. They use different methods and colors, some are white, some black, some stamped, and there are different fonts:

Now that you know when your products was made, you need to find out how long it’s good for. On the box or packaging the product came in, there will be a little picture of a open jar with a number next to a M. The M represents months. So something that says 12M that means that the product is good for 12 after it has been opened; 24M= 24 months and so on and so on. This “logo” is on the backs of all kinds of products from all different companies. My shampoo from L’anza even has it.  Here’s an example of what that looks like,

MAC Makeup expiration5

All of this taken into consideration, the  product SHOULD say good until you open it, and expose it to light and air.  Things you should never EVER use past the expiration dates are Eyeliner, Mascara, Skin Care, and Foundation. Most e/s and blushes are good for a LONG time, especially if you sanitize your makeup regularly, but that’s another blog entry…. ^_^
